FINAL DETAILS OF CARE HOME ARE APPROVED

The final details of a new care home planned for Brackley have been given planning pernmission by South Northants Council.

The care home, which will specialise in dementia care, is designed to replace Brackley Cottage Hospital alongside the medical centre which has already received planning permission.

Earlier this year SNC’s planning committee gave full permission for the medical centre and gave the go-ahead for the care home in principle on land bordered  by Northampton Road and Turweston Road,

The layout, look and landscaping for the care home were approved during the planning committee meeting on November 30.

Rebecca Breese, chairman of SNC’s planning committee said: “The idea of buiding a care home in this location is well established and the committee welcomes the addition of a facility which will mean local people can remain close to family and friends needing dementia care.”

Alongside 62 bedrooms, facilities for residents of the care home include a hair salon, sunroom, cafe, cinema room, and library as well as open air courtyards and landscaped gardens.

As well as the cottage hospital in Pebble Lane, the medical centre replaces Brackley health Centre and Washington House Surgery on Halse Road.
