Tuesday, 7th June

  • Interdenominational Church Service in the morning at the Parish Church.  Time to be announced later.
  • Afternoon Programme  in  the School Field

3.00 Display by Helmdon Girl’s Brigade

3.15 Children’s and Adults’ Sports  - The children will be divided into age groups and there will be certificates for winners of races and three engraved cups awarded for this with highest points.  Races for adults will be of a a light hearted nature.

4.15 approx.  Comic Cricket Match: Gentlemen against Ladies.

Sideshows will be run during the match with Hoop-la, Men’s and Ladies’ Bowls, Spinning Jenny and Donkey Rides.

If it rains the outside events will have to be cancelled, and the programme will begin with the teas.

  • Adults’ and Children’s Teas

These will be held at approximately 5.30 in the School Hall.  We are issuing refreshment tickets in advance of the day.  As villagers have worked hard to raise money, we feel that outsiders should be excluded except for friends invited by someone from the village.  Refreshments will be free for villagers but a charge of 25p  for tea will be made for each visiting adult or child.

Only one refreshment ticket will be issued per person and adults and teenagers have the choice between afternoon tea or refreshments at the Dance or Disco in the evening.

The committee reserves the right to restrict the number of visitors allowed.

  • Distribution of Jubilee Mugs

During tea a Jubilee mug  will be given to every child in the village from birth to 16 years inclusive.  If your child cannot attend to collect his mug we can deliver it to your home another day.

  • Disco in the Reading Room at 8 p.m.  Entrance and refreshments free for villagers, 50p for their friends, issued in advance to avoid gatecrashers.  Clive Turnham will provide the Disco music.
