"There was no bridge for vehicles over the brook that passes
through the middle of the village, but there was a narrow foot
bridge of timber on stone pillars for the use of passengers
and also further down the stream a plank was thrown over. This
was called Scholars Plank ….. I suppose that was the name
derived from it being used by the schoolchildren, being the
nighest way to the schoolhouse from the other end of the village." |

next quarrel in 1682 when Radstone had to pay for the 'indictment'." |
