Extract from the Comrs Award on Helmdon Inclosures

as to Mr John Fairbrother's Allotment

 

 

Extracted from the Commissioners inforcements Award made on the Inclosure of the Open and Common Fields of Helmdon in the County of Northampton dated the 30th day of May 1759

And We do hereby set out ascertain assign allot appoint determine and award unto and for the said John Fairbrother (in lieu Recompence and full satisfaction of and compensation for All such Lands Interests and Right of Common and other (pr)operties within the said fields Meadows and Grounds by the said Act intended to be divided and inclosed as aforesaid which were the property of the said John Fairbrother immediately before the passing of the said Act and also in full Satisfaction and Compensation for the making repairing amending maintaining and keeping in repair such part of the Publick Road or highway hereinafter by us Awarded ordered directed and appointed to be made repaired amended maintained and kept in repair by and at the expence of the said John Fairbrother. All that lot plot piece or parcel of Land or Ground lying in and being parcel of the said Fields Meadows and Ground by the said Act intended to be divided and inclosed as aforesaid containing One hundred and fifty seven Acres Three roods and Twelve poles in Statute Measures exclusive of all Roads and ways as the same is now admeasured surveyed staked and set out and which same lot plot piece or parcel of Land or ground is bounded on a small part of the East by the small Tenement and Garden of Widow King in Helmdon aforesaid on other small part of the East by a homestall late Jordans in Helmdon aforesaid on other small part of the East and on a small part of the South by the Farmyard and orchard of the said John Fairbrother in Helmdon aforesaid on other part of the East by the Allotment of Thomas Eyre on other part of the East by part of the Allotment of Nathaniel Blencow on other part of the East by part of the Allotment of the said Trustees for the poor of the Parish of All Saints in the said Town of Northampton on other part of the East by the allotment of William Gilks and on the remaining part of the East by the Allotment of John Gilks on part of the North by the Brook which divides the Lordships of Weedon Pinckney and Helmdon aforesaid on the North West by part of the Publick Road or Highways called Daventry Way on part of the North by part of the Boundary Hedge and Ditch belonging to the Common Fields of Sulgrave aforesaid on part of the West and small part of the North by the Allotment of Wood or Woodland of the said President and Scholars of Saint Mary Magdalen College and the said (Ann) Harriott as their Lessee on other part of the West and on other part of the South by the Allotment of the said Provost Fellows and Scholars of Worcester College hereinbefore mentioned to contain fifty four acres three roods and one pole on other part of the West on small part of the South on other part of the West on Small Remaining part of the North and on the Remaining part of the West by the said Publick Road or Highway Commonly called Daventry Way on other part of the South by part of the freehold home Close or Closes of the said John Adkins belonging to or used with his now Dwelling House in Helmdon aforesaid on other part of the South by a home Close or Antient Inclosure of the said President and Scholars of Saint Mary Magdalen College and the said Lydia Jackson as their Lessee belonging to a Messuage or Tenement in Helmdon aforesaid in the occupation of Edward Baylis Victualer on other part of the South by a homeclose or Antient Inclosure of the said President Scholars and the said Ann Harriott as their Lessee belonging to a Messuage or Tenement in Helmdon aforesaid in the occupation of Jane Bull Widow on other part of the South by a home Close or antient Inclosure of Richard Pullen belonging to his Messuage or Tenement in Helmdon aforesaid and on remaining part of the South by a Home Close or Antient Inclosure of the said Edward Harriott and small part of the Orchard of John Pratt in Helmdon aforesaid
