Parents and staff at Helmdon Acorns Pre-School are celebrating news of a cash boost.

The Pre-school has been given a grant of  £10,000 from the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (WNDC).

It currently rents the Reading Room in Helmdon but will soon move to a new building.

The cash will be used to buy a fitted kitchen for the new facility and a piece of outside play equipment.

Liz\ Hart, a parent of a pupil at the pre-school, who has been managing the project, said: ”This really is a fantastic boost to our fundraising efforts.

 “Our project costs will be in the region of £173,000 and we are awaiting the outcome of one more application due at the end of July, at which point we should meet our target.”
