HELMDON

READING ROOM – About two years ago a Reading Room was commenced building by Mr. Fairbrother, of Wappenham, in remembrance of his father, who lived in Helmdon.  The room is built for the parish.  On Wednesday night an invitation supper was held in the room, to the number of 75, to thank Mr. Fairbrother for his kindness. - The Rev. F. Barnes was chairman and there were present Messrs. J. Bartlett, sen.r, J. Bartlett, junr., and two daughters, Mr. & Mrs. Eiles, Mr. & Mrs. Thomason, Messrs. Jeffery, Harding, Bradshaw, W. Harding., etc.
