BRACKLEY YOUNG WIVES WIN AGAIN
The final game of the season for Brackley’s women cricketers was played on Wednesday evening at Brackley Cricket Club. Helmdon Young Wives managed to reach a total of 43 runs in their first ever game but the Brackley Young Wives held the upper hand throughout the evening, and declared at 44 with several wickets remaining.
After the game a bread and cheese supper was held in the pavilion and the two teams were able to exchange some tips. The evening proved to be as much a social one as a sporting evening.
The visiting Helmdon ladies were Capt. J. Saunders, J. Payne, P Payne, E. Humphrey, A. Humphrey, S. Lidgley, E. Simmons, J. Terry, M. Wroe, B. Harris and A. Wooton.
The Brackley ladies were Capt. L Hunt, J. Porter, A. Jones, D. Bewick, A. Neale, H. Clarke, M. Carney, J. Carney, H. Smith, M.Edgell. J. Blencoe. Umpires were D. Johnson (Brackley) and P. Wroe (Helmdon).
