CHARITY HELP PAWS IN!
Helmdon is full of fat cats who’ve eaten their way through more than 1,000 tins of cat food for a fund-raising effort.
Villager Mrs Jenny Saunders has collected 1,663 labels from Whiskas cat food as Whiskas have offered to give 4d for every label to one of five charities.
Mrs Saunders, who doesn’t even own a cat, first asked Village moggy owners to help out in March and the response has been overwhelming.
Her mum, who lives in Silverstone, has also been collecting labels.
Mrs Saunders reckons she’s raised about £65 for Action Research for the Crippled Child, Mencap, Dr Barnados, UNICEF and the National Association of Youth Clubs
Labels are still pouring to her house and she says she’ll carry on sending them until the closing date in November
