NEW RAIL PLAN ON THE CARDS
Detailed plans for Central Railway’s latest proposals are in the pipeline and could be displayed in Brackley before the end of the year.
A spokesman for Central Railway, Robert Raffety, said that Central Railways would display their plans in Brackley but “not until after the summer”.
He told the Post: “We are putting together teams of consultants and compiling the framework to go forward with detailed plans.
“We have not completed the detailed plans as yet, there’s such a long way to go. We are not in a position to display our plans yet and we will not be for a few months yet, not until after the summer.”
Central Railways put their draft proposals forward last year – the planned route runs from Lille to Liverpool with Brackley highlighted as a possible station.
A second meeting organized by CRAG, Central Railways Action Group, was held on Sunday – with campaigners gearing up to fight the proposals.
Cllr Peter Joyce, vice chairman of Brackley Residents’ Action Group, attended the meeting.
He said: “There are still concerns growing from people along the length of the railway.
“We know roughly what the plans are but until you can actually see what is planned, it’s difficult. What do you object to when you don’t know what the exact plans are?
“It is a case of sitting and waiting for Central Railway to come forward with some definite plans.”
