Priory Farm is older than the other substantional farmhouses in Helmdon. Its proportions - longer and lower - and the details of the fenestration and doorheads, together with the shape and style of the chimney stack, suggest a date from the late sixteenth or seventeenth centuries.
Althouth the fine barn, which was from the eighteenth century, was a listed building, it has collapsed in the middle, and is now in a state of utter disrepair.
